The Lecturer will be based on Campus



Are you a passionate and experienced professional in the field of Tourism? We are currently looking for a dedicated Lecturer to join our team and contribute to delivering high-quality education to our students. This is a fixed-term contract/independent contractor position, offering a competitive hourly rate that reflects your qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will be based at our campus in Cape Town.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Tourism OR National Diploma in Tourism
Minimum of 3 years of industry experience
At least 1 year of teaching experience
Previous experience delivering lectures both on-campus and online, preferably with hybrid (semi-remote/online) students.
Lecturing experience in NATED specialist Travel N4,N5 and N6


Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging lectures on various subjects within the Nated Tourism Programme, including Business Communication (N4-N5), Travel Office Procedure (N4-N6), Tourist Destinations (N4-N6), Travel Services (N4-N6), and Hotel Reception (N6).
Contribute to the development of academic content and course materials.
Assist with administrative tasks related to courses and attend departmental meetings as required.
Stay updated with service standards and actively engage in personal and professional development.
Conduct research and develop new topics, courses, and teaching materials, including online resources.
Participate in examination certification processes and support student success.
Conduct face-to-face contact sessions with students and provide assistance to distance learners.
Key Performance Areas:
Develop academic content and deliver effective lectures.
Demonstrate academic leadership and engage in research activities.
Monitor student records and track academic progress.
Manage general academic administration tasks.
Provide support and conduct contact sessions for distance learners.
