The Academic Planning Lead plays a pivotal role in the strategic development of the institution's academic programs. This position oversees the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of qualifications and short learning programs (SLPs), ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and market demands. Qualifications and Experience:
Master’s degree in Higher Education, Educational Leadership, Law, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in higher education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record in academic planning and quality assurance.
Strong understanding of South African higher education policies and accreditation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the formulation and execution of academic strategies, ensuring alignment with national education goals.
Manage curriculum design and development for new programs, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
Oversee continuous reviews of curricula to maintain relevance and alignment with international standards.
Ensure all programs meet accreditation and regulatory requirements by working closely with CHE, DHET, and SAQA.
Implement a framework for the regular evaluation and review of academic programs.
Foster collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure programs meet market needs.
Promote innovation in teaching, learning, and assessment methodologies.
