A leading South African company specializing in chemical and cleaning equipment solutions for the Industrial, Commercial, Food & Beverage, and Water Treatment sectors is seeking a Financial Accountant to oversee financial operations, compliance, and reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with expertise in general ledger management, financial reporting, inventory control, and process optimization. The successful candidate will act as the liaison between auditors and business functions, ensuring compliance with IAS & IFRS while enhancing financial efficiency
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support financial decision-making
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across departments
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
Previous experience with BAAN ERP is advantageous
Comprehensive knowledge of IAS & IFRS, as the candidate will serve as the liaison between auditors and business functions
Duties and Responsibilities:
Asset Management – Maintain and oversee company assets, ensuring accurate financial records
General Ledger – Manage and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
Team Leadership – Guide and mentor finance team members, fostering a high-performance culture
Inventory Management – Oversee inventory accounting and stock control, ensuring accurate valuation
Financial Reporting – Prepare detailed financial reports for management and stakeholders
Process Improvement – Identify and implement efficiencies in financial operations
Compliance – Ensure adherence to IAS & IFRS standards, playing a key role in financial audits
Cash Flow Management – Monitor and maintain optimal cash flow levels to support business operations
Cost & Report Analysis – Conduct cost analyses and financial reports to optimize financial performance
Financial Administration – Oversee daily financial administration tasks and ensure accuracy
Audit Coordination – Act as the primary contact for company audits, facilitating communication with auditors
