The Accreditation & Compliance Manager ensures the institution meets all accreditation and regulatory compliance requirements in alignment with higher education standards. This role involves overseeing accreditation processes, regulatory reporting, quality assurance, and institutional audits while supporting governance, accountability, and institutional performance.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree or equivalent in Business and Commerce or Higher Education Management.
At least 5 years in quality assurance or accreditation within a higher education institution.
Strong understanding of regional and national accreditation processes.
Experience conducting institutional research and benchmarking.
Document review and editing with a high level of attention to detail.
Strong English verbal and written communication.
Knowledge of the South African higher education landscape.
Project planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
Critical thinking and risk assessment.
Stakeholder engagement and change management.
High-level computer literacy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Accreditation & Regulatory Compliance:
Oversee and manage institutional accreditation and compliance activities.
Ensure all policies, systems, and procedures meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.
Maintain registration and accreditation across all regions.
Lead teams handling accreditation, reaccreditation, and institutional audits.
Prepare and submit applications and reports to regulatory bodies.
Monitor and improve institutional compliance frameworks.
Conduct internal regulatory reviews and risk assessments.
Quality Assurance & Institutional Audits:
Provide leadership on national reviews, institutional audits, and programme accreditation.
Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance Framework (QAF) and Institutional Audits Framework (IAF).
Oversee site visits, internal audits, and improvement plans.
Develop and implement digital Quality Assurance Management Systems (QAMS).
Conduct gap analyses and ensure adherence to continuous improvement plans.
Stakeholder & Team Management:
Build and manage teams to execute accreditation and compliance functions.
Implement training and succession planning for the Monitoring & Evaluation team.
Conduct compliance workshops and regional roadshows.
Develop relationships with regulatory bodies and stakeholders.
Coordinate institutional audit logistics, documentation, and execution.
Programme Review & Special Projects:
Manage qualification development, ensuring compliance with accreditation authorities.
Monitor programme audits and reviews, ensuring they align with governance requirements.
Oversee research and quality improvement projects within the institution.
