Build your SHEQ career in a hands-on role combining 70% safety and compliance with 30% training responsibilities.
Provide support to the Group Head of SHEQ and gain broad operational exposure across inspections, risk assessments, incident investigations, audits and workplace training.
Minimum Requirements:
1 or more years’ practical experience within a Safety, SHEQ or SHERQ role
Practical understanding of workplace health and safety requirements
Experience with safety administration, compliance records and reporting
Valid driver’s licence and own transport as occasional travel will be required
Strong organisational and administrative skills
Ability to work independently
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Safety qualification such as SAMTRAC, SHEMTRAC, NOSA or equivalent preferred but not essential
Previous logistics, transport, warehousing or similar operational experience advantageous
Workplace training experience advantageous
First Aid and Fire Fighting certification advantageous
At least 1 year’s exposure to ISO 14001, SQS or similar quality/environmental standards advantageous
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct workplace, yard, warehouse and operational safety inspections
Monitor compliance with SHEQ/SHERQ policies, procedures and safe working practices
Assist with risk assessments, corrective actions and incident, accident and near-miss investigations
Maintain safety records, registers, checklists and compliance documentation
Support toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness initiatives
Monitor PPE compliance and safety relating to loading, offloading, warehousing and vehicle movement areas
Assist with emergency preparedness and safety drills
Support internal and external SHEQ audits and corrective actions
Assist with environmental and quality compliance requirements
Maintain employee training records and training matrices
Coordinate safety, operational and customer site-specific SHEQ training
Conduct internal safety training where appropriately qualified
Assist with employee inductions and refresher training
Coordinate First Aid, Fire Fighting and other safety-related training
Provide administrative support to the SHERQ department
