Seeking a qualified Technical Sales Engineer to provide technical support, servicing and sales of specialised medical equipment across the healthcare sector.
This is a hands-on technical and client-facing role combining biomedical engineering, equipment installation and maintenance, product training and technical sales. You will work closely with hospitals, clinical teams and healthcare professionals while developing customer relationships and achieving agreed sales targets.
Regular regional travel is required.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Clinical Engineering – essential
Registered with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA) or eligible to register
Minimum 3 years' experience within a hospital, clinical or medical equipment environment preferred
Knowledge of patient monitoring, life-support, medical imaging and critical-care equipment
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
Basic networking and IT knowledge for connected medical devices
Technical or medical equipment sales experience advantageous
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
Confident presenting and demonstrating technical products to healthcare professionals
Excellent communication, customer service and relationship-building skills
Strong administration and technical reporting abilities
Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle – essential
Willing to travel extensively throughout Namibia
Flexible to work after hours when installations, servicing or breakdowns require it
Duties and Responsibilities:
Install, commission, service and repair medical equipment
Perform preventative maintenance, fault-finding and technical troubleshooting
Work with equipment including X-ray, ultrasound, CT and MRI systems, patient monitors, ventilators, defibrillators, infusion pumps, dialysis and anaesthesia equipment
Conduct acceptance testing and ensure installations meet manufacturer requirements
Provide technical support and equipment training to healthcare professionals
Manage customer queries, equipment complaints and technical issues
Prepare quotations for equipment servicing and repairs
Maintain accurate service, installation and equipment records
Monitor spare parts, accessories, tools and workshop equipment
Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, clinical staff and healthcare customers
Present, demonstrate and promote medical equipment to existing and prospective customers
Identify new sales opportunities and develop prospective accounts
Achieve agreed sales targets and territory objectives
Prepare regular sales, activity and customer reports
Travel to customer sites throughout Namibia for sales, installations, maintenance and technical support
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with applicable policies and procedures
