Working on a luxury game reserve is unlike working in a traditional office environment. We're looking for an organised and proactive HR professional to support the full employee lifecycle while coordinating staff housing and HR administration in a unique, remote setting.
This is a varied role that combines HR operations with practical day-to-day support across the business. Success in the role requires someone who is equally comfortable managing confidential HR processes, engaging with employees at all levels, and contributing to the smooth running of the reserve's operations.

Your responsibilities will span HR administration, employee relations, training coordination, Employment Equity, Skills Development, Time & Attendance, and staff housing administration.
Please note: This is not a traditional office-based HR administration role. In addition to core HR responsibilities, you'll coordinate staff housing, conduct accommodation inspections, manage Time & Attendance administration, and provide operational support where needed. If you enjoy variety, take initiative, and thrive in a hands-on environment, this could be the opportunity for you.

Grade 12 (Matric).
Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources will be advantageous.

General HR administration across the employee lifecycle.

Employment Equity and Skills Development administration.
HR information systems and Time & Attendance platforms.
Applying South African labour legislation, including the Basic Conditions of Employment Act.
Managing confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining accurate employee records, personnel files and HR databases, including any additional systems introduced by the business.
Preparing employment contracts and coordinating onboarding and offboarding administration.
Managing Employment Equity, Skills Development and staff housing records.
Advising managers on HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.
Participating in disciplinary and grievance processes while ensuring compliance with company policies and the Labour Relations Act.
Coordinating internal and external training, maintaining attendance registers, skills matrixes and training records.
Arranging accommodation for external training providers when required.
Assisting with Workplace Skills Plans, Annual Training Reports and Employment Equity submissions.
Keeping Employment Equity committee documentation accurate, current and audit-ready.
Coordinating staff housing allocations and maintaining accommodation registers.
Conducting quarterly inspections of staff villages and company accommodation.
Completing pre-occupation and exit inspections for employees moving into or out of company accommodation.
Administering the Time & Attendance system, including employee enrolments, terminations, system maintenance and the distribution of weekly reports to line managers.
Coordinating transport and logistics for employee recreational activities when required.
Providing administrative support across departments and participating in shared operational duties, including vehicle refuelling on a roster basis.
Serving on company committees and upholding The Long Run's 4C sustainability initiatives and GER standards.
Skills:
Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
Sound judgement, attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
This Role Will Suit You If You:
Enjoy working in a remote, operational environment where every day is different.
Are comfortable balancing HR administration with practical operational responsibilities.
Take ownership of your work and can manage competing priorities independently.
Value teamwork and are willing to contribute beyond your core responsibilities when required.
Are adaptable, resilient and comfortable living on-site.
What We Offer:
Market-related salary.
Live-in single accommodation.
Staff flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town.

A supportive team and exposure to a broad and rewarding HR function.
