This role is ideal for a technically minded junior who wants to learn from senior technicians and grow in a client-facing support environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Matric / Grade 12
Basic IT-related course, short course, practical exposure or a strong personal interest in IT and networking advantageous
Exposure to basic Windows troubleshooting
Basic understanding of IP addresses, routers and switches
Understanding of the difference between WiFi and cabled network connections
Able to check basic IP settings on PCs and use simple troubleshooting commands such as ipconfig and ping
Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle
Willingness to learn, follow instructions and grow within a technical support environment
Reliable, punctual and professional
Good communication skills and a helpful approach with users
Able to follow instructions and ask for guidance when needed
Logical thinker with a practical problem-solving mindset
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with basic IT support and first-line troubleshooting for users
Help resolve basic connectivity issues relating to internet access, WiFi, cabling and local networks
Check basic IP settings on PCs and use simple troubleshooting commands such as ipconfig and ping
Assist with connecting devices via cable or WiFi and identifying whether an issue is local network or internet related
Support senior technicians with client-site tasks, installations, checks and follow-up actions
Follow instructions, document work completed, update tickets or notes and escalate issues when required
Maintain a professional, punctual and customer-focused approach when dealing with users and client environments
