Seeking a commercially astute and technically strong Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth within the mining, quarrying, and mineral processing sectors.
This senior-level role is suited to a results-driven professional with a strong understanding of screening media, materials processing, and related industrial applications. Working closely with executive leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for expanding market share, securing new business opportunities, and building long-term strategic customer relationships.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record within the screening media, mineral processing, crushing and screening, mining consumables, or related industries, combining strong technical sales expertise with excellent commercial, reporting, and relationship management capabilities.
Minimum Requirements:
8+ years technical sales or business development experience within the screening media, mineral processing, crushing and screening, or quarrying sectors
Strong working knowledge of screening media products including woven wire screens, polyurethane panels, modular screen systems, and flex mat solutions
Proven experience selling directly into mines, quarries, and mineral processing plants
Existing network of relationships within mining and quarrying operations
Strong commercial, technical, and business development capability
Strong administrative compliance and management skills
Experience managing quotations, tenders, proposals, and sales administration
Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively
Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Development & Market Expansion
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the mining and quarrying sectors.
Develop and implement strategic plans to increase market share and revenue growth.
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities across targeted customer segments.
Drive business development initiatives that contribute to long-term growth objectives.
Technical Sales & Client Engagement
Provide technical guidance and support to customers regarding screening media solutions.
Conduct client visits, presentations, and product demonstrations.
Develop tailored solutions to meet customer operational requirements.
Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through to successful project completion.
Account Management & Relationship Building
Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
Manage strategic customer accounts and identify opportunities for account growth.
Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term client retention.
Commercial & Sales Management
Prepare quotations, proposals, and commercial submissions.
Monitor sales performance against targets and provide accurate forecasting.
Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, opportunities, and market intelligence.
Ensure all sales administration and reporting requirements are completed accurately and timeously.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Support
Monitor competitor activity, market developments, and industry trends.
Provide management with insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Identify opportunities for product growth and market penetration.
Administration, Reporting & Commercial Governance
Ensure all sales administration, quotations, proposals, and customer documentation are completed accurately and timeously.
Maintain an up-to-date CRM, sales pipeline, and customer database to ensure visibility of opportunities and business performance.
Prepare and submit accurate sales forecasts, activity reports, market intelligence, and management reports.
Monitor quotations, tenders, and commercial submissions to ensure timely follow-up and conversion opportunities are maximised.
Ensure customer records, contracts, pricing agreements, and sales documentation are maintained and managed in accordance with company standards.
Drive structured sales processes and ensure administrative controls support sustainable business growth.
Maintain high levels of accuracy, accountability, and professionalism across all sales and business development activities.
