Revenue Manager (JB6134)
Location: Johannesburg North, Gauteng
Salary: R1 100 000 per annum CTC (Based on experience)
Employment Type: Permanent
If you have a passion for conservation and a sharp commercial mind, this is a genuinely rare opportunity to bring those two things together. A respected organisation operating within the environmental services sector is looking for an experienced Revenue Manager to take the lead on pricing strategy, inventory management, and demand planning across a collection of exclusive lodge and wilderness experiences.
This is not a typical hospitality revenue role. The business operates within one of Africa's most significant privately protected conservation areas, which means the work carries real purpose. Every revenue decision supports a long-term mission centred on preserving biodiversity and safeguarding natural habitats for future generations.
What's in it for you
A senior leadership role that blends commercial strategy with genuine conservation impact
The chance to work with a mission-driven organisation at the forefront of luxury, conservation-led hospitality in southern Africa
A role with real influence, spanning pricing architecture, channel strategy, reservations leadership, and senior reporting
Access to unique wilderness experiences as part of the working environment
A culture built around purpose, innovation, and excellence in guest experience
Competitive CTC package of up to R1 100 000 per annum
Minimum Requirements
A relevant degree in Finance, Informatics, or Analytics (BCom or equivalent)
Five or more years of revenue management experience in luxury hospitality or the hotel sector
Proven expertise in pricing, forecasting, and inventory control for high-ADR, limited-inventory products
Strong understanding of the trade ecosystem including DMC and wholesale networks, consortia, GDS, and OTA economics
Advanced proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, and experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker
Hands-on experience with PMS, CRS, or RMS platforms such as Opera, Protel, SynXis, TravelClick, IDeaS, or Duetto
Familiarity with channel managers such as SiteMinder, and rate shopper or parity tools
Analytical, commercially minded, and a clear communicator who can drive action across functions
A genuine interest in conservation, sustainability, and luxury guest experiences
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain seasonal pricing architecture including BAR and LRA structures, rate fences, length-of-stay controls, and package design by camp and suite type
Run displacement analysis for buyouts, exclusive-use requests, private vehicles, and high-yield experiences
Recommend tactical offers and stay-pay windows aligned to occupancy trends and brand positioning
Produce 18-month demand forecasts by market, segment, and channel, and manage pacing and pick-up dashboards
Set allocation rules and stop-sell or open-close controls, and optimise shoulder and low-demand periods while protecting peak inventory
Guide the reservations team in prioritising high-value enquiries and managing waitlists effectively
Shape channel strategy in collaboration with the sales team across direct, DMC, wholesale, consortia, GDS, and select OTA channels, and enforce rate parity
Evaluate co-op and campaign proposals using ROI models and provide guidance on target rates and length-of-stay for trade promotions
Configure and audit rates, room types, and restrictions across PMS, CRS, and RMS platforms, and ensure accurate rate loading
Maintain the master rate calendar, blackout dates, promotions tracker, and audit logs
Lead weekly revenue meetings with the Head of Sales covering pick-up, ADR, RevPAR, GOPPAR, channel mix, forecast risks, and action items
Deliver monthly performance packs for leadership, including insights on pricing tests, wins, and learnings
Lead and manage the Reservations Team to deliver exceptional service standards and accurate handling of all bookings
Monitor reservation conversion rates and identify opportunities to improve sales effectiveness
Develop and implement reservation procedures, standards, and best practices
Oversee waitlists, group bookings, special requests, and booking amendments, and resolve complex reservation issues where necessary
Monitor the luxury safari competitive set, air access, foreign exchange movements, and macro travel trends, and translate findings into pricing and mix decisions
