Internal Recruitment Consultant (JB5859)
Location: Midrand, Johannesburg
Salary: R35 - 40 000 per month
Employment Type: Permanent | In-Office
 
This role is responsible for proactively attracting, sourcing, and headhunting high-quality talent, with an initial focus on building market visibility and establishing strong early-stage talent pipelines.
A key priority in the first phase of the role will be increasing awareness of the organisation in the talent market, particularly through university engagement and early-career outreach. Alongside this, the Recruiter will source experienced professionals across property- and construction-related roles, supporting hard-to-fill and priority hiring needs.
The role works closely with Talent Acquisition colleagues and focuses on front-end recruitment activity, including market mapping, relationship building, and delivering well-qualified candidate pipelines.
 
Minimum Requirements:
Approximately 5 years’ experience in recruitment, headhunting, or talent sourcing
Experience recruiting within the property or construction sector
Strong background in active sourcing and market mapping
Proven ability to engage confidently with experienced and specialist candidates
Experience using job portals, social recruitment platforms, and sourcing tools
Comfortable representing an organisation externally and building long-term relationships
A relevant degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, or a related field
Strong communication skills and a positive, engaging personal style
Willingness to travel to sites, universities, and external events as required
 
Nice to have
Experience with graduate or intern recruitment programmes
Exposure to referral campaigns or recruitment marketing initiatives
Experience recruiting across multiple sites or business units
Familiarity with applicant tracking systems or digital recruitment platforms
Registration as a Psychometrist
 
Key Responsibilities:
Proactively sourcing and headhunting candidates for priority and specialist roles
Building and maintaining external talent pipelines, particularly within property and construction-related disciplines
Increasing market awareness through direct candidate engagement and external networking
Establishing and maintaining relationships with universities and tertiary institutions
Supporting graduate and intern recruitment initiatives and campus activities
Identifying and engaging passive candidates through targeted sourcing approaches
Managing and growing talent pools for current and future hiring needs
Using job boards, social platforms, and sourcing tools effectively
Supporting employee referral initiatives by sourcing and managing referred candidates
Providing well-screened, suitable candidates to Talent Acquisition colleagues to support timely hiring
