The company operates a large-scale logistics and warehousing facility in Windhoek, supplying a network of trade partners and retailers across the country. The Supply Chain Executive is responsible for leading and optimising the company’s end-to-end supply chain operations. This includes strategic planning, procurement, warehousing, logistics, and transport management, ensuring products are delivered accurately, cost-effectively, and on time. This is a hands-on leadership role, not a purely strategic or administrative one. It requires daily engagement with operations teams, transport providers, and suppliers to ensure consistent service performance.
The ideal candidate is an experienced supply chain professional who combines strategic insight with practical execution. You should have a deep understanding of logistics, warehousing, and distribution within Southern Africa, particularly in FMCG or large-scale distribution.
You are confident in leading multi-functional teams, negotiating with suppliers, optimising systems, and driving measurable improvements in cost, efficiency, and compliance. A results-driven mindset, resilience under pressure, and the ability to balance people leadership with process control will be key to success.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in logistics or warehousing, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP systems.
Advanced computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
Proven negotiation experience with vendors and logistics partners.
Strong analytical, planning, and organizational ability.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Sound understanding of OHS, food safety, and legislative compliance.
Namibian citizenship or existing right to work in Namibia.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Optimisation
Develop and implement end-to-end supply chain strategies aligned with business goals.
Forecast demand, plan capacity, and optimise delivery routes for efficiency.
Identify process risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Procurement & Supplier Management
Build and manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
Negotiate contracts and monitor supplier performance through KPIs and SLAs.
Conduct regular supplier reviews and ensure continuity of supply.
Warehousing Operations
Oversee all warehouse functions, including receiving, dispatching, and inventory control.
Implement standard operating procedures and performance monitoring systems.
Drive process improvement and ensure compliance with OHS and safety standards.
Transportation Management
Manage logistics service providers and vehicle fleets (inbound and outbound).
Monitor transport costs, performance, and asset utilisation.
Oversee proof-of-delivery tracking and maintenance processes.
Financial & Compliance Oversight
Manage operational and capital budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
Stay updated with logistics cost drivers and market trends.
Ensure compliance with local and international trade regulations.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop multi-functional warehouse and logistics teams.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
