This position plays a vital role in maintaining road safety and visual clarity on public and private road networks. The Line Marker is responsible for accurately preparing, marking, and maintaining road lines, pedestrian crossings, symbols, and directional markings in accordance with operational standards and road safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on technical experience in road marking, with the ability to perform precise pre-marking and set-outs, operate spray machinery, and apply various paint and thermoplastic materials to exact specifications
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 / Matric (essential)
Valid driver’s licence (essential)
3–5 years of proven experience in road or line marking roles (non-negotiable)
Proficient in pre-marking and set-out procedures
Advanced knowledge of road marking paints, thermoplastic compounds, and reflective materials
Skilled in the operation of road marking spray machines (manual and mechanical)
Professional training or short courses in road maintenance, painting, or safety practices (essential)
Familiarity with road safety signage and traffic management principles
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
Strong mechanical aptitude and equipment handling ability
Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare road surfaces for marking, ensuring surfaces are clean and properly primed
Perform accurate pre-marking, set-out, and measurement in line with project specifications
Operate road marking machines to apply paint, thermoplastic, or reflective materials
Mix, prepare, and apply paints or thermoplastics as per required consistency and colour standards
Ensure markings are correctly aligned, clearly visible, and compliant with safety regulations
Conduct post-application quality checks and make touch-ups where required
Maintain marking machinery, tools, and stencils in excellent working order
Follow all safety protocols and use PPE as required
Report site conditions, surface issues, and equipment concerns to the Site Supervisor
Assist with daily work logs, material usage records, and progress reporting
Support general site setup and assist with other operational duties when required
