A well-established business is looking for an experienced Finance Officer / Bookkeeper to manage the full financial function within a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of all accounting processes, from daily transactions through to monthly and annual financial reporting. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a hands-on position and enjoys working closely with a collaborative team while maintaining compliance with statutory and audit requirements

Minimum Requirements:
Matric with Accounting and/or relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Bookkeeping
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar finance or bookkeeping role
Proven ability to handle full finance function (debtors, creditors, cashbook, general ledger, and reconciliations)
Proficient in Pastel Accounting and Microsoft Excel (Intermediate to Advanced)
Experience preparing management accounts, cashflow reports, and VAT submissions
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational ability
Knowledge of statutory compliance and year-end audit preparation
Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a high-volume environment

Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage the full finance function, including journals, reconciliations, ledgers, and reporting
Prepare month-end reports, cashflow projections, and financial statements for management review
Handle VAT submissions and ensure compliance with all legislative and statutory requirements
Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and provide required documentation
Check and capture creditor payments for approval and release
Prepare and present cashflow reports and variance analysis at management meetings
Manage import and foreign currency payments
Maintain accurate records and reconciliations of accounts, ensuring data integrity
Assist with general administrative and office finance functions as needed
Support management with ad hoc financial projects and reporting requirements
