Managed Services - Business Development Manager (JB5653)
Location: Remote for applicants living in South Africa
Salary: R37 - 65 000 per month + commission

We are looking for a highly motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) with a hunter’s mindset to drive new Managed Service Provider (MSP) client acquisition in the UK. This role is perfect for a self-starter who thrives on outbound prospecting, building their own pipeline, and engaging confidently with decision-makers in finance and operations (including business owners).
While new business generation is the primary focus, you will also manage a defined book of accounts, ensuring strong client relationships, clean renewals, and meaningful upsell opportunities across IT and communications solutions.
Minimum Requirements:
Proven track record as a hunter-style BDM in the MSP, IT services, or technology solutions sector.
Strong ability to self-generate pipeline and close deals in a competitive market.
Solid account management skills, with experience in upselling and running QBRs.
Excellent written and verbal communication in UK business English.
Confident presenter on video and in client meetings.
Highly organised, data-driven, and disciplined with CRM hygiene and reporting.
Able to work UK business hours from South Africa.
Willingness to travel to London clients when required.
Responsibilities:
New Business (Primary Focus):
Build and execute a self-sourced outbound sales engine, supported by marketing.
Prospect, qualify, and close net new MSP clients (5 to 75 users).
Deliver clear and compelling talk tracks tailored to finance and operations leaders.
Account Management (Secondary Focus):
Manage a defined book of existing clients, running Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
Drive upsells across security, Microsoft 365, backup, connectivity, and telephony.
Own contract renewals, protecting margin and ensuring sensible uplifts.
Maintain strong client retention through proactive engagement and service.
Performance & Reporting:
Meet precise weekly activity expectations across calls, meetings, and proposals.
Maintain clean and accurate CRM records at all times.
Report on core KPIs:
New logos and users added per quarter
Users per win and MRR growth
Sales cycle length and close rate
Upsell attach rates, retention, and renewal quality
Proactively manage a forward-looking renewal calendar.
What Success Looks Like
Consistent growth in net new users per quarter.
Strong attach rates on upsells across the services portfolio.
High client retention and clean, margin-protected renewals.
