Seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant with 5+ years’ experience to join a busy office in Germiston. This role is central to managing transactions, reconciliations, VAT, and preparing accurate financial reports that support decision-making. You will work closely with management and external accountants to ensure compliance and maintain financial efficiency in a growing business.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree in Accounting (essential).
Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in a full function accounting role.
Advanced proficiency in Pastel Partner (non-negotiable).
Strong financial reporting, reconciliations, VAT, and cashflow management skills.
Knowledge of foreign exchange contracts.
Excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
Clear communicator, confident liaising with management, clients, and external accountants.
Familiarity with South African accounting standards and statutory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Transaction & Cashflow Management
Capture daily financial transactions (sales, purchases, payments).
Maintain updated cashflow forecasts and manage cashflow.
Manage accounts payable/receivable, invoices, vendor bills, and overdue accounts.
Oversee foreign exchange contracts.
Compliance & Reporting
Prepare monthly VAT returns.
Complete regular bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
Produce monthly/quarterly Management Accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet).
Provide performance reports against budget and highlight financial trends.
Maintain organized financial records for audits and tax purposes.
Support external accountants with audit and tax submissions.
