We are recruiting on behalf of a leading eco-tourism and conservation organisation, seeking a strategic, forward-thinking Head of Human Resources and Employee Facilities to join their executive team in a unique and purpose-driven environment.

This opportunity offers the chance to build and lead a high-impact HR function while contributing to community upliftment, sustainability, and remote workforce excellence.

This is a senior strategic role ideal for someone who thrives in complex, mission-led environments. You will serve as a trusted partner to the General Manager and executive team, leading HR strategy and overseeing employee services, including accommodation, schooling, clinic, and staff wellbeing infrastructure.
With an established HR Manager and HR Practitioner in place, your focus will be on elevating the entire HR portfolio, from system implementation to talent development, policy design, and organisational planning.

Candidates must be available on-site in the Northern Cape for a minimum of 3 weeks per month during the initial phase. Over time, this may be adjusted based on operational needs and performance. Relocation to the reserve is welcomed and supported for candidates seeking a more permanent presence.

Essential Requirements:
Postgraduate qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business Admin, or similar.
Minimum of 8–10 years in HR, with at least 3 years in a senior strategic role.
Experience in hospitality, conservation, remote operations, or other high-integrity, service-led industries.
Strong working knowledge of South African labour law.
Proven ability to influence at senior executive/board level.
Demonstrated success in building high-performing, values-aligned cultures.
Hands-on experience with policy development, systems setup, and HR digital transformation.

Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of HR strategies aligned with business goals and long-term purpose.
Guide all people practices, including recruitment, L&D, employee engagement, retention, and succession.
Oversee employee services and facilities, including staff accommodation, clinic, school, and recreation centre.
Advise and partner with the General Manager and Exco on workforce planning and cultural transformation.
Ensure HR compliance with South African labour law and industry best practice.
Develop and implement policies, HRIS, and communication systems
Strengthen internal communication frameworks and performance measurement tools
Build leadership capability across departments and teams.
Drive community employment, skills development, and local hiring strategies.
