An exciting opportunity has opened at a newly developed, independently owned Steak House Restaurant in Zambia, set to launch in August/September 2025. Specialising in premium steaks, with a complementary menu including lunch and dinner options, sushi, and blackboard chef specials, the establishment seeks a passionate Head Chef to take full command of the kitchen. This hands-on role includes leadership, menu innovation, and operational excellence, reporting directly to the owner and playing a key role in shaping the restaurant's identity and guest experience

Minimum Requirements:
3–5 years' experience in a steakhouse or grill-focused kitchen
Culinary certification or diploma (minimum)
Advanced butchery, grilling, and sauce preparation skills
Strong menu development and costing expertise
Leadership experience in managing a kitchen brigade
Hands-on knowledge of inventory, budgeting, and supplier management
Excellent communication skills
Valid passport
Must present professionally and uphold conservative personal grooming standards

Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations including food preparation, quality control, and hygiene compliance
Develop, cost, and refine the menu, focusing on steak pairings, sauces, and seasonal specials
Recruit, train, and lead the kitchen team; manage rosters and performance
Ensure consistency and high standards across all service periods (breakfast, lunch, all-day dining, sushi bar)
Manage supplier relationships and inventory, ensuring cost control and minimal waste
Lead menu innovation, incorporating diverse cultural influences where appropriate
Collaborate with front-of-house and ownership team to ensure seamless guest experience
Monitor customer feedback and dish performance; adjust offerings as needed
Occasionally engage with patrons and act as the restaurant’s culinary ambassador
Drive compliance with food safety regulations and internal SOPs
Participate in the strategic development of the brand as it expands into future locations
