3-year Fixed Term Contract
Seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management and financial control for the construction of RDP houses and clinics in Chintsa, Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will ensure that project costs are accurately estimated, budgets are effectively managed, and financial risks are mitigated while maintaining compliance with public sector requirements. Candidates that meet all requirements and are available to start by no later than 20 March 2025 are invited to apply
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience working on public sector projects, specifically in buildings and infrastructure delivery.
Registered with SACQSP as a Professional Quantity Surveyor.
Strong knowledge of cost estimation, tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
Experience working with JBCC, NEC, or FIDIC contracts.
Familiarity with South African public sector regulations, municipal frameworks, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in CostX, WinQS, or similar quantity surveying software.
Strong ability to manage budgets, cost reporting, and risk assessments for large-scale projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop cost estimates and feasibility studies for RDP housing and clinic projects.
Prepare and review bills of quantities, tenders, and procurement documentation.
Monitor project budgets, financial forecasts, and expenditure tracking.
Conduct contract administration and ensure compliance with public sector procurement standards.
Oversee payment valuations, progress claims, and cost variations.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure cost efficiency.
Conduct site inspections to verify completed work aligns with project cost expectations.
Prepare financial reports and risk analyses for stakeholders.
