Seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to support the construction of RDP houses and clinics in Chintsa, Eastern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and overseeing structural and civil works, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and project specifications. Candidates that meet all requirements and are available to start by no later than 20 March 2025 are invited to apply
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in civil/structural engineering, particularly in buildings and infrastructure projects.
Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or Professional Engineering Technologist.
Strong knowledge of structural design, material specifications, and construction methodologies.
Experience with engineering software for structural analysis and design.
Familiarity with South African building codes, safety regulations, and municipal standards.
Ability to work with contractors, architects, and project managers to ensure quality and compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee the structural and civil engineering aspects of the project.
Conduct structural designs, load calculations, and site inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
Ensure that materials, workmanship, and construction methods meet engineering standards.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and site teams to address design and construction challenges.
Provide technical expertise in risk management, problem-solving, and quality control.
Review and approve engineering plans, drawings, and specifications.
Ensure all work complies with ECSA, municipal regulations, and safety standards.
Monitor project progress, reporting any deviations or risks to senior management.
