The Infrastructure Tier 2 Engineer will provide advanced support for IT infrastructure, ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of servers, networks, and storage systems. This role involves troubleshooting escalated issues, performing system maintenance, and collaborating with IT teams to enhance infrastructure performance. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Minimum Requirements:
5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or a similar role.
Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
Expertise in server hardware and storage solutions.
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python (preferred).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Relevant certifications preferred:
CompTIA Network+
CompTIA A+
Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate
Microsoft 365 Certified: Administrator Expert
Fortinet Network Security Professional (NSE 4)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage systems.
Provide Tier 2 support for escalated IT infrastructure issues from Tier 1 support and NOC teams.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
Perform routine system maintenance and updates to optimize performance.
Implement security measures to protect infrastructure from cyber threats.
Manage and maintain virtualization environments (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
Assist in deploying and configuring new infrastructure components.
Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
Document IT infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
