We are assisting our client, an internet provider in a quiet town in Limpopo, in finding a Network Engineer to join their very busy team. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of our client's network infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience as an ISP Network Engineer and maintenance, deep understanding of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, routing, QoS, switching, and MikroTik hardware and have MTCNA & MTCRE certification.
Minimum Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience as an ISP Network Engineer and maintenance.
MTCNA & MTCRE Certification essential.
Deep understanding of network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, routing, QoS, switching, and MikroTik hardware.
Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, IP routing, and switches.
Experience implementing QoS, PBR, VPN, MPLS, SD-WAN.
SOPHOSS firewall setup, planning, and management experience.
Excellent understanding of Service Provider and Enterprise Architecture.
Thorough understanding of switching, routing, and related technologies.
Valid driver's license.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitoring network engineering performance to ensure system availability and reliability.
Ensuring maximum uptime for network services.
Configuring and installing various network devices and services, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and QoS.
Performing network maintenance and system upgrades.
Monitoring system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
Providing Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues promptly.
Selecting and implementing security tools, policies, and procedures in collaboration with the company's security team.
Understanding of VOIP technologies.
Willingness to visit clients or high sites if necessary.
Undertaking any ad hoc tasks as required by the manager.
