As the Buyer, you will be at the forefront of the beauty and makeup market, meticulously planning and selecting product ranges that resonate with current trends and customer demands. You'll thrive on researching and sourcing both existing and new products globally, ensuring the right mix of profitability, pricing, and style. This role will require you to handle everything from product development and lifecycle management to supplier negotiations and inventory control.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail or direct sales, within the beauty industry.
A post-matric qualification in Retail / Product Management
Proven experience in product sourcing and supplier liaison, especially in international markets like China.
Experience in brand building would be beneficial
Excellent negotiation, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Strong strategic thinking, planning abilities, and excellent time management.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
A valid passport with a willingness to travel as needed.
Duties:
Research and select products that align with emerging trends and customer preferences.
Source new and existing products, both locally and internationally, optimizing for cost, quality, and innovation.
Engage in negotiations with suppliers to secure the best terms for pricing, timelines, and product quality.
Manage the complete development, manufacturing, and lifecycle of the product ranges.
Coordinate with internal teams on ordering, reordering, and stock-level management based on sales forecasts and market changes.
Oversee shipping logistics to ensure timely deliveries.
Maintain continuous communication with suppliers throughout the manufacturing process.
Ensure compliance of all products and packaging with industry standards and specifications.
Represent the company at tradeshows and conferences to stay updated with industry developments.
